The accelerated harvesting typical of a genuine revival has been likened to the falling effect of dominoes, and that is precisely what took place onboard the USS Barry. I was the first of the dominoes to fall. Conversions then began to transpire regularly (along with the persecution and challenges that accompany them). Phenomenal and dramatic life transformations were taking place on a near constant basis. So perplexing were the overnight lifestyle changes that more sailors began inquiring about what was going on. This enhanced curiosity brought them to our nightly Bible studies. Through the bold witness of the recently converted, many other sailors began to place their faith in Christ and dramatic conversions became commonplace.

God has accomplished feats like this in the past, and He is ready and willing to do it again. There have been approximately 800 revivals, similar to the USS Barry Revival, in just the last 15 years! Will we, in our church, and in our city, prepare the fields for His showers of refreshing? Do we want it bad enough that we will make it a concentrated and intentional focus of our prayers? Will we make the necessary sacrifices to see it happen?
