Revivals of Charles G. Finney
Charles G. Finney’s (1792-1875) unique methods of evangelism earned him the title of the “father of modern revivalism.” His methods paved the way for other mass-evangelists, like Dwight L. Moody, John W. Chapman, Billy Sunday, and Billy Graham, who adapted and built upon Finney’s methods.
We have written accounts of over 31 revivals that Finney was involved with. That list can be found in the revival account 1860-1868 Oberlin, Ohio Revivals.
Oberlin Holiness Tent
This tent was used by Charles G. Finney and others during the Oberlin, Ohio, revivals.
Topics of Prayer
► We will be preaching during the Sunday morning services at The Rock in Leo, IN, on April 2 and 9 (Easter). The Holy Spirit spoke to the pastor there, Roger Dilley, that something unique is to occur through our ministry there. Please pray that we clearly hear about what to share, and that we become very sensitive to His leading.
► Pray for prophets to speak to The Church, calling God’s people to humble themselves in repentance. This is a vital step toward genuine revival, and one that cannot be sidestepped.
► Please pray for our ministry partners in Indonesia. The vision they have is large and they have been working that vision, and it has been producing tremendous fruit. The goal is to have churches started in 10 provinces during the next couple of years. Please pray for their faith to remain strong so their vision will materialize.
► For the Indonesian ministry, pray for more leaders to be recognized and equipped to conduct church planting throughout Indonesia.
► We often spend 5 or more hours per day discipling people, giving pastoral counseling, and praying with them for freedom and deliverance. Please pray that we will be granted divine wisdom when serving these people, because the complexity of some situations is beyond anyone’s natural wisdom.
Principles of Revival
We would like to encourage you to read our 9 Principles of Revival on our website. Here is a snapshot of these 9 principles.
#1: All It Takes Is One Spark—Revivals almost always begin with an individual whom God sovereignly draws and prepares for launching a revival. God always works through people, and a person will not persistently and unrelentingly pursue God for a revival if that person isn’t first drawn to do so by the Holy Spirit.
#2: The Pastor Pursues God for Revival—Behind every revival will be a pastor and church leaders who are supportive of it. Church leaders hold the key to revival (look at the churches of Rev. 2-3).
#3: Extraordinary Prayer—It is not merely prayer, it is extraordinary prayer, that is united, persistent, frequent, and often for extended periods of time.
#4: Faith to Believe Revival Is Possible—Revival is not possible without faith to believe it can occur, and such faith will be demonstrated by means, efforts, or, as the apostle James would say, “works.” These efforts are things God’s people can do to open the door for revival.
#5: Planned Revival Services—This principle of revivals is that most revivals commence with a special service, or series of services. Revivals don’t just “fall out of the sky”–they are always preceded by extraordinary prayer and anticipation of it occurring.
#6: Humble Yourself and Confess—Confession that The Church is in need of a revival should be a very humbling statement. It is saying that God’s people are not walking in obedience.
#7: Deal Thoroughly with Sin—Before the start of any biblical revival, it was always preceded with the destruction of idols.
#8: Attacks Will Come—Attacks always accompany revivals. If you aren’t attacked, you better look again and see if it is a genuine revival.
#9: Revivals Fade—but they don’t have to. Revivals end due to a cause. Those causes can be anticipated and avoided.

One Hundred Churches Since 2010
The church planting effort in Indonesia was commenced in 2010. In just five years there were around 80 churches. The number keeps growing every year. In 2022 there were 8 new churches started, and expansion like this calls for the number of leaders to continually increase. To provide more leaders and evangelists, a second church-planter training school in a major city has been started. The previous one was designed to train young men and women to work in the jungles. This new school will develop leaders whose focus will be major population centers.

Farming Project Launched in the Jungles
The Gospel has taken root among the primitive and previously animistic jungle inhabitants. A farming project was launched among them in 2022. This food produced will be for their family’s consumption, as well as to see the excess sold at the local market.
$22,460 in Donations
We wanted to express our deep gratitude to the donors that are empowering the ministry in Indonesia through their prayers and financial gifts.
From the donations received for the ministry in Indonesia during the last couple of months, we transferred 100% to the ministry partners there ($22,460). Unlike many non-profit organizations, we do not deduct 12% [or much more] for administration fees. It has been a practice of ours to forward 100% of the donations to the need designated by the donor.
These donations go toward:
►Support of National Church Planters
►Church-Planter Training School
►Ongoing Leadership Development on the Field
►Support of Evangelism Teams
►Motorcycles for Evangelists
►Start-Up and Support of Jungle Elementary Schools
►Narcotic & Mental Health Rehab Center
►Feeding the Poor
►Support of Orphans and Widows
►Providing Clean Water (wells and filtration)
If you would like to play a role in the ministry in Indonesia, please consider prayer and becoming a regular monthly donor. One-time donations are also welcome.
