Are Deliverance Ministries Biblical?

It is common to hear opinions in opposition to ministries developed specifically for the deliverance from evil spirits. It is true that there isn’t any biblical directive specifically for the establishment of a specialty ministry like that, nor is there a biblical basis for a wide assortment of other ministries that are conducted in and out of churches and para-church organization. But just because they aren’t found in the Bible, does that make them wrong?

Are Children’s Ministries or Youth Ministries Scriptural?
A thorough search through the Scriptures wouldn’t produce any evidence that a church should have ministries specialized for children or youth. Nor is there biblical evidence of there ever having been a children or youth pastor. But would we say that just because they are not found in the Bible, that these ministries are wrong, and that they shouldn’t be conducted? Would anyone say that specialized training of children’s teachers and youth workers shouldn’t take place, just because it isn’t found in the Bible?

Specialized Training
All ministries that are conducted in a local church require specialized training. Nobody would argue with that. Yet when it comes to the deliverance from evil spirits, a much-needed ministry that most fear, or are ignorant of, and that is rarely if ever addressed from a pulpit, that type of ministry has been placed in a strange and isolated class all by itself—even though Jesus spoke of and conducted ministry extensively on behalf of the demonized.
