Vulnerable to the Surgeon’s Knife
Brutally Honesty and Vulnerability
From Jesus’ many parables we learn that he taught spiritual truths by using natural examples. In fact, the Old Testament contains thousands of examples of natural examples by which we learn spiritual truths (1 Cor. 15:46).
Walk Around the Operating Room
As it pertains to the ministry of deliverance, a person cannot obtain freedom by merely talking about their emotional or spiritual condition, they must do something about it. To merely make the confession that they are in need is similar to a person in need of surgery, and they spend all their time walking around an operating room, examining the equipment, instead of laying themselves on the operating table and making themselves vulnerable to the surgeon’s knife.
Healing Requires Vulnerability
In the ministry of deliverance there must also be vulnerability. A person must trust the person ministering to them, to such an extent, that they will not hesitate to share their deepest and most horrific traumas, fears, and emotional pain. It is only when the individual becomes brutally honest and vulnerable that healing is made possible.
