What are the Differences Between Psychotherapy and Deliverance Prayer Teams?
SIMILARITIES
Both focus on renewing the mind by removing negative behavior, actions, and thoughts, and then replacing them with positive ones.
DIFFERENCES
Prayer Teams
• Renew the mind with the Word of God and apply biblical standards for a person’s behavior and actions.
• Depend on and trust in God’s promises for a person’s healing through prayer.
• Recognize and acknowledge that there are spiritual powers at work trying to destroy people’s lives. The overwhelming majority of licensed mental health professionals, even those who claim they are Christian, often approach mental health with a secular worldview and apply non-Christian advice in their practice.
Psychotherapy* ** ***
• Will end up costing thousands of dollars, and the practitioner will often tell the client their treatment will be required for the duration of their life.
• Will often involve very powerful medications which have severe side effects.
• Even if the therapist claims to be a Christian, due to state laws, they are very restricted in using the Bible or prayer for the individual’s healing.
• Overwhelming majority of practitioners disavow spiritual realities (powers of God and Satan).
• It is not uncommon for state licensed mental health professionals to prescribe Hindu / New Age meditation and exercises (demonic), which they claim can relive stress, but for some reason there is rarely any Christian religious practices that are recommended.
