Following deliverance sessions, which involves the release of tremendous spiritual power, individuals being prayed for consistently report that they immediately enter into a mountain top experience, wherein they rise above the temptations and troubles of this life. The things that were previously troubling them become almost non-existent. One person described his experience as if he was placed in a
Bubble of God’s Grace.
These “bubbles of God’s grace” will enclose and protect an individual from the things, which just a few moments earlier, were mercilessly beating them down into a state of hopelessness, despair, and death.
It isn’t guaranteed that everyone will have such a radical experience, but this is often the case. These experiences only last for about two weeks, and it is while they are on this mountain top that they are encouraged to apply themselves diligently to establish new and consistent habits involving Christian disciplines for spiritual growth. Doing this renews their minds (Eph. 5:26; Rom. 12:2) and gives them new freedom and power to maintain their deliverance.
Strike While the Iron is Hot / Jump in While the Waters are Stirred
The person that takes advantage of their mountain top experience, and they commit to renewing their minds with the Word of God, prayer, fasting, etc., they are the ones that will be able to maintain their deliverance. Those who do not apply themselves, and allow the moment of God’s mercy and grace to pass them by, often find themselves back to where they were in a very short period of time.
Desperation
We tell people repeatedly:
if you are not desperate, and you are not willing to fight, or you want someone else to do all the fighting for you, deliverance will not work.
Deliverance is not about someone who waves a magic wand over someone else’s head and “poof”, they are miraculously free. Deliverance requires fighting to get free, and it requires fighting to stay free (Eph. 6:10-18). If you are lazy, or don’t want to discipline yourself, you are not a candidate for the ministry of deliverance.
