Northeast Indiana Revival—Upcoming Revival Account
We have recently started research for our next revival account, which will focus on one that occurred in northeast Indiana during the late 1960s – early 1970s. This account will take more time than normal to develop, as nothing has been written about it, and it will require us to conduct numerous personal interviews to assemble the needed information.
What will be fascinating about this revival account is that it will show the results in the lives of those that were directly impacted by that revival. This observation, 50 years removed, will give a picture of how revivals create a wake that lasts a generation, and has the potential to impact succeeding generations.
Deliverance Training
Chet Swearingen, conducting a deliverance seminar
at The Rock, Fort Wayne, Indiana (2019)
We have invested well over 2,800 hours ministering in the area of Freedom and Deliverance during the last four years. This has been actual face-to-face ministry time, with amazing results being achieved. We desire to share our knowledge and experience with others throughout the region, and to help us do that, we have scheduled several days of training during the months of September and October. The plans for this training are in progress and we will have more detailed information on our website in a few weeks.
Here is the information available now:
Deliverance Seminar: Basics
► Saturday, September 9—Delta, OH
► Saturday, September 16—Waterloo, IN
Deliverance Seminar: Advanced
► Saturday, October 7—Delta, OH
► Saturday, October 14—Waterloo, IN

Comparison between Revival and the Ministry of Deliverance
For a pastor to stand before their congregation and make the statement, “We need a revival!” is a very courageous yet humiliating statement, as it indicates that there is something seriously wrong with that congregation.
To say a congregation needs a revival is making the statement that a spirit of slumber; a spirit of apathy; a spirit of neglect; a spirit of worldliness; a spirit of selfishness; etc., has been allowed to push the Holy Spirit to the side and has, in His place, taken preeminence in the lives of most of the believers within that congregation.
A true revival means nothing less than a revolution, casting out the spirit of worldliness and selfishness, and making God and His love triumph in the heart and life. – Andrew Murray
A direct parallel to a congregation humbling themselves and making the declaration of their need for revival is the follower of Jesus who is in deep spiritual bondage to food, alcohol, sex, drugs, entertainment, bodily modifications, etc., turning to pursue the ministry of deliverance.
Spiritual Remediation
Regardless of the cause of the spiritual decline of a congregation or individual, a spiritual remedy needs to be applied, as behavior modification (for the individual), or church growth strategies (for a congregation), though helpful, will never address the root issue.
If revival is being withheld from us it is because some idol remains still enthroned; because we still insist in placing our reliance in human schemes; because we still refuse to face the unchangeable truth that, “It is not by might, but by My Spirit.” – Jonathan Goforth
Revival Begins with a Decision
Whether it is an individual or a congregation that is in need of a revival, freedom, and deliverance, it all begins with a decision. It is no different than a person who wants to lose weight. A decision must be made, a plan put into place, and actions taken for the freedom from whatever bondage is in place to be lifted.
As long as we are content to live without revival, we will. – Leonard Ravenhill
Topics of Prayer
► For our fall Deliverance Seminar planning. We want to see teams develop in areas around the tristate region.
► Continual release of God’s plans to be revealed to our ministry partners in Indonesia.
► Wisdom for us, as we invest in discipleship with individuals, as well as our need for discernment in the ministry of deliverance.

Discipleship—A High Priority!
The ministry partners in Indonesia excel in the area of discipleship, in that they not only take believers through a series of classes for education, but they also put them on a path for ministry. This is a highly tuned equipping ministry which few churches in the United States can compare with. We were blessed to have been able to watch and observe this ministry, as new Christians were developed and equipped, and then launched into successful ministry activity.
Excellent Servant Camp is a dynamic and exceptional building block for the discipleship strategy of these Indonesians.
