A FRESH ANOINTING
A FRESH ANOINTING
by Donna Baldwin of Cecil, Ohio
May 2001
Lord, I need a fresh anointing.
This is no time to grow cold.
I feel the urging of your Spirit.
Your face to seek, to behold.
I remember when your Spirit
first came to fill my soul.
Nothing of this world could
make me so complete, so whole.
I lift my vessel up to You.
Fill it to overflow.
Draw me nearer, so much nearer.
So much more of You to know.
I need a fresh anointing.
That I more like You would be.
Take all that hinders this desire.
Set my spirit free.
There is no joy like knowing You.
I’m waiting at your feet.
Pour Your oil over me.
Make my renewal complete.
Anoint me for your service, Lord,
There’s so much work to do.
But I cannot do it in myself,
I must be touched by You.
Lord, I want—
And, Lord, I need—
And I wait upon You, My Source—
For a fresh anointing!
