On July 30, 2019, the General Presbytery of the Assemblies of God, the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination, updated their 47-year-old position on spiritual warfare.
The denomination’s previous positional paper, dated May 1972, was titled: Can Born-Again Believers Be Demon Possessed. That paper is no longer available on the Assemblies of God website, but can be accessed using the WayBack Machine with this link.
The denomination’s website that lists their positional papers now has a paper titled: Spiritual Warfare and the Believer. The new positional paper can be accessed with this link.
The new positional paper takes a less dogmatic approach to this topic and acknowledges that Christians, those who are genuinely born-again, can come under varying degrees of demonic control.
